Zero Hero Business Program
Check back in the new year to learn about new tools, supports, and rewards business and organizations will have access to when adopting waste reduction goals and strategies.
Zero Waste doesn’t strictly mean Zero Waste to landfill. It incorporates actions that design out waste beginning during the manufacturing and distribution of products. This conscious redesign of our economic systems to maximize the value of resources is referred to as the The Circular Economy.
What is it?
“A circular economy is an alternative to a traditional linear economy (make, use, dispose) in which we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them whilst in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life.”
More information about the Circular Economy and the origin of this concept is available through the Ellen MacArthur Foundation website.
